Kevin cautiously made his way slowly circling the area in search of his course back because these people revered snakes, making him an opponent to them all as they saw him as a nonbeliever, thus was a possible source of danger. At that point, he happened upon a shrine which the people observed as holy. It actually was a shrine in dedication to the snakes that the people were revering, which freaked him out. Something also was concealed behind it which caught his curiosity.

He was frightened as he walked around the shrine because he was facing the worst snake hole that he had experienced encountering which, again says something since his guy has been working with snakes for an extended period of time in his career. He had the uneasy feeling that someone was watching him from the jungle. He obviously had to exercise caution because he was standing on holy ground, respected and revered by the locals.
