The anaconda abruptly stopped pursuing Kevin, and at the very same instant, Kevin had an odd sensation; as if something was odd about the fact that the snake stopped following him. He experienced chills because he felt out of place in the very large and dense vegetation of the jungle. He went into a section of the jungle that he definitely wasn’t allowed to enter, but he felt that that decision was the only thing to do during that time, and so he did.

He may have predicted where he would actually end up because this was obviously native land and various native groups roam the land and are with nature. Tribes and smaller groups (even individual houses) were still residing in this area. Neither they previously had the chance to interact with the outside community nor encountered a person from Abroad. Kevin understood he needed to take caution as he might appear and would be interpreted as a threat by the members of the tribal community.
