Beginning Of The Career
Reba met her first first husband, the rodeo star Charlie battles when she was at a different Rodeo. They got married in 1976, surprisingly the same year in which her music career was going well. On 22 January in the same year, she released her single debut named ‘I Don’t Want to Be a One Night Stand’. It was only able to occupy 88th position on the Billboard country charts though. She did more songs later on but they didn’t do very well. This did not stop her from achieving her dream. In 1979, she was finally able to gain popularity when the song ‘Sweet Dreams’ by Patsy Cline was released and she hit 19th position on the chart. It was the first time when she was there in the list of Top 20, certainly it was just the beginning and a lot of hits were about to follow.

First Performance At The Grand Ole Opry
Year 1977 was the first time when Reba was supposed to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. This stage is considered to be the legendary home of country music and hence she accepted the invitation to perform. After making all the way to Nashville, she was not allowed in the entrance by the security as the list did not have her name. They had a huge conversation until he was finally able to spot her name. She was almost not able to make it there but then things worked. After getting in she was informed that the producers had reduced the time of her performance to half so that Dolly Parton could give a performance. Surely, the organizers did not even have a sight idea that they were doing this with a musing legend in the making.
