Something Was Hiding Behind The Bushes
Kevin abruptly leaped back in surprise as he cleared some bushes that blocked his path searching for the pit. He had observed something present and hiding in the undergrowth that had greatly alarmed him. He was aware that he eventually had to go on with the task, but he lacked a true plan or system, or even a fallback option. It might be quite risky, and he is fully aware of those risks and how impactful they would be, but he also understood he had to continue on with his task.

A Giant Snake Welcomed Him!
He hadn’t simply seen an ordinary anaconda; he actually was face to face with a gigantic one, which was amazing since he had lived and enjoyed an extended experience in dealing with snakes. He had never seen something bigger than what was staring at him! His initial reaction was to flee as he was slowly moving closer to the researcher. But the menacing anaconda prevented him from going back and he had no choice but to get over the hurdle before him.
