Talking with the interviewer of El Pair, the historian Arroyo also talked about the surprise element of this discovery. He told the newspaper that it was quite common to find the structures hollow as it was done to increase the durability, it was quite surprising to find out a handwritten letter. This was an amazing experience as no other time capsule contained handwritten items, he added. The ones that were found at the Washington Monument were also two-centuries old but there was no handwritten content kept inside.
