To put a marking on the 100-year anniversary of the Washington Monument, the capsule that was buried carried more types of items than the original one. Along with the newspapers and the same declaration of independence document, the capsule also had a Francis Scott Key painting. Oh, you forgot who Key is, well the history lessons taught you back at school. He was the man who gave words to The Star-Spangled Banner. The 1915 was also quite a significant year in the history of the Washington Monument.

Humphries, in one of his statements, said that there were some other structures and buildings where they have found more than one capsule buried. The items that these capsules contain enhance the historical aspect of the monument. The newspapers also offer an insight on the day-to-day life and developments.
