In April of 1945, British troops liberated the Belsen concentration camp. Upon arrival, the soldiers were horrified at the state of affairs, and the amount of dead and dying prisoners brought an air of doom and gloom to the operation.

While many prisoners received immediate medical assistance, for some it was simply too late. Many died later, and survivors got to hear about the camp being burned to the ground on May 21st, 1945. The haunting and harrowing events were finally able to be put to rest.
