The Yellow Star of David
In Nazi Germany, Jewish people were forced to wear the yellow star of David on their clothes, in order to publicly identify themselves (and to be humiliated) as they went about their daily business. This, as a result of a degree making it law.

As a result, thousands of Jewish people were deported, and eventually led to their identification ahead of being sent to concentration and other death camps. In this curious picture, a Muslim woman is seen helping a Jewish woman by hiding her yellow star, and protecting her where possible.
The Red Army
The best soldiers in the war could be found in what became known as the Red Army, an elite unit that formed part of some of the best performing rifle regiments. This was not a small group of soldiers by any means.

These scouts were recognized by the “amoeba” camouflage worn only by their members. Irrespective of their ages, these soldiers were recruited based on their skill level. This teenage boy was one of the members that likely had to do unthinkable things.
