Once WWII ended, it was time for nations to celebrate. In Moscow, countless festivities were organized to celebrate the end of the war, but also to honor and pay tribute to the fallen soldiers who had bravely given their lives to a greater cause.

The Moscow Victory Parade of 1945 was aimed at congratulating soldiers for the defeat of Nazi Germany. It was one of the most significant events held in the Red Square after the end of the war was declared, and this photograph shows that it was an iconic moment in history.
Sniper Cover
The Allies used a variety of tanks during WWII, and in the United States M4 Sherman tanks were the order of the day. These were reliable and inexpensive and could be leased out to the British Commonwealth or Soviet Union if need be.

While the tank itself is indispensable, its actual use was often different to what you might imagine. Here, it is shown providing sniper cover to soldiers as they attempt to escape from German forces. This is one of many examples of innovative combat techniques that were used during the war.
