This should have been a joyous moment, the birth of a child. While David and Johanna supported Becky to the best of her ability, Becky still had her issues to deal with. While pregnant, she still drank alcohol. She was addicted to it.

This weakened her terribly, and when the time came for the delivery, things didn’t look good at all. A terrible tragedy was about to hit Johanna, and she wasn’t prepared for it.

It’s impossible to know how Johanna felt at that moment. Not only had she lost her sister, but she would now have to care for a child without a birth parent.
