Thanks to the many relationships she went through, Becky found herself falling pregnant at a very young age. It might have been that she didn’t know who the father was or didn’t want him involved, but she would go at the pregnancy alone.

She was concerned that she wouldn’t be able to provide the child with a stable upbringing. For her part, Johanna was glad. She thought having a child might make Becky settle down.

As we’ve said, Becky didn’t have a partner to help her through this. Having a child is hard enough with two parents. Doing it alone is much harder.

Worst of all, Becky only had Johanna to help her, but Johanna had a family of her own to care for. Luckily, Johanna and David had the means to help her, and so that is what they decided to do. No one else would actually help her.
