A Change in Perception
For Christopher, solitude allowed him to change his perception on the world entirely. Applying this increased perception onto his own life, he said he felt like he lost his identity in a way. There was no audience, and nobody to “perform for”, meaning he didn’t have to define himself within the context of the world, and as a result, he started feeling irrelevant in the world.

I Was Never Lonely
Christopher also said that he never felt lonely, as in his solitude, he was never alone. While he didn’t even have a basic mirror in his home, or a windowpane to look at his reflection from, he was never keen on his own appearance and thought it had hindered his own self-perception when she was still living in the world before his adventure.
