More About Wintertime
Having said that, winter wasn’t exactly a treat to have to deal with. The best option to stay warm was to move his body as much as possible, but the challenge was that the snow didn’t exactly help him out and he was more likely to catch hypothermia from being outside his shelter. Christopher chose to settle in at home from 7:30pm in winter, so that by 2:00am he was ready to get active and move, in order not to freeze to death in the icy cold of the night. A fire wasn’t an option, not only as he could be detected from doing so, but also because any perspiration would freeze instantly, and could lead to his death over the span of a few hours.

Solitude Among The Cold
Although it was hard to be out there in the winter months, the town was usually deserted and Christopher really enjoyed the solitude. Smaller numbers of hikers also meant that he could lower his guard just a bit, but he was careful not to get too comfortable. As soon as spring came around, he was appreciative of the sun, but worried more about being detected as a result.
