14. Shop-Bought Smoothies
Smoothies can be healthy when they are made with the right ingredients. They can include fruit, vegetables, yogurt, milk, oats, seeds, and nut butter. But shop-bought smoothies are not always as balanced as they seem. Some contain added sugar, honey, syrup, or large amounts of fruit juice, which can make them much sweeter than expected.

Making a smoothie at home gives you more control. Use water, milk, or an unsweetened plant drink as a base, then add fruit, greens, and a source of protein such as yogurt, nut butter, or seeds. A smoothie should feel like a small meal, not just a sweet drink. When made well, it can be a useful breakfast for busy mornings.
