Nobody had ever expected what was revealed after the swarming reptiles in the middle were removed. Prior to that, they all had an idea, or an imagination, of what was hiding in the pit, and what was being protected and guarded by the huge animals. In the center, there surprisingly was a huge serpent with a huge bulge in its belly. From all the things that they suspected it to be this was definitely something, they did not expect. They needed to remove whatever was inside of it.
