Then The Stairs Began To Move
At first, the change was so small that some people almost missed it. A slight shift appeared in the structure, followed by a slow movement in the steps. What had looked solid only seconds earlier began to separate and slide. Parts of the staircase moved back, while other sections lowered into place. The ordinary stone entrance was changing right in front of everyone.
Within moments, the steps no longer looked like stairs at all. A smooth space opened where the barrier had been, creating a clear path for the wheelchair. The woman did not hesitate. She moved forward confidently, guiding herself into the new space as though she had used it before. The crowd went completely silent. What looked like a risky attempt was not risky at all. She had known exactly what was about to happen.
