Johannas Parents Experience A Change Of Heart
She received no apology, and her parents never showed any remorse. She didn’t believe they were heartfelt and so felt that they didn’t deserve to meet Beck. Emotions are a funny thing, so it’s not our place to say whether Johanna was wrong or right. She had her own path to walk alongside Beck.
Beck Didn’t React
Beck’s response was, much like everything else he did, muted. As David and Johanna explained, he didn’t react at all. This interaction would teach Johanna a lot about who Beck was.

He did have a response, but it wasn’t at all what Johanna had been expecting. She expected more questions or perhaps even an outburst, but that wasn’t what they got at all. It seems that Beck still had some real surprises of his own.
