5. Limit Fried Foods
Fried foods are often high in calories, saturated fats, and sometimes trans fats, depending on the oil and cooking method. Chips, fried chicken, battered foods, and deep-fried snacks can taste good, but eating them often can make it harder to support heart health and maintain a healthy weight. After 50, this becomes more important because metabolism usually slows down.

Fried foods do not have to be removed forever, but they should not be a regular habit. Baking, grilling, roasting, or using an air fryer can give a similar result with less oil. When frying at home, choosing better oils and avoiding old reused oil can help. The goal is to enjoy these foods occasionally while making lighter cooking methods the normal choice.
