3. Be Careful With Saturated Fats
Saturated fats are found in foods like butter, cheese, fatty meats, sausages, cream, and many processed foods. The body does need some fat, but too much saturated fat can raise LDL cholesterol, often called bad cholesterol. After 50, this matters more because the risk of heart disease, stroke, and circulation problems can become higher.

A better approach is to reduce saturated fat and choose more unsaturated fats instead. Olive oil, nuts, seeds, avocado, and oily fish can be better everyday options. Leaner cuts of meat can also help, and trimming visible fat is a simple step. Foods like cheese, butter, and sausages can still be enjoyed sometimes, but smaller portions and better balance are important after 50.
