Omaha beach was one of the five divisions of the Allied invasion of Nazi-occupied France. The beach was located in Normandy and American soldiers used sea transport and minesweeping to take it back from German occupation.

AS the pictures showed, it must have been an incredibly tense moment to arrive on Omaha Beach before one of the deadliest battles in the entire war. Over ten thousand Allied soldiers lost their lives that day, many of which didn’t even get to plant their feet onto the soil before perishing.
