Tom approached me one evening and suggested a break from it all. “Let’s take a weekend retreat,” he said gently. “Might help us clear our minds,” he said, his eyes bright with hope. I paused to contemplate the notion. “We could use a break,” I agreed, feeling the stress ease slightly. “Time to recharge,” Tom said, his smile contagious. With a getaway scheduled, I felt both excited and relieved.
