The Unannounced Visit
Just as I was getting comfortable on the couch with a cup of coffee, the door suddenly opened, and there was Margaret standing there. In fact, she didn’t even bother to knock in a courteous manner. In announcing, “Lisa, we need to talk,” she said. When her blue eyes met mine in a demanding manner, I immediately realized that something was wrong. The eyebrows of Tom were lifted as he looked up from his laptop. With a wary tone, he inquired, “Mom, is everything okay?” However, I was aware that it was not merely a social call. Margaret had arrived with a certain goal in mind, and that was to discuss the topic of money.
