At 78, Marta decided she was done with ordinary houses. She had lived in square rooms, under flat ceilings, with staircases, gardens, and walls that always needed more work than she wanted to give. So when she had the chance to build something completely different, she did not ask for a bigger home. She asked for a home carved into the rocky hillside itself. From the outside, it almost looks like a secret door in the mountain, with stone, plants, and a quiet path leading toward the entrance.

The result is not a dark hole or a strange little shelter. It is a warm and carefully planned home that proves comfort does not always need to look traditional. Marta worked with builders and designers who understood that she wanted the cave’s natural shape to stay visible. She did not want every rough edge hidden away. She wanted the stone to remain part of the story. And once the front door opens, the simple little cave entrance suddenly becomes something much more surprising.
